Welcome to the Howzatt Cup 2023 Date: 28th October, 8:00 Am Venue: Movina Sports, SVCE Campus, Kempegowda Road, Telecom Society, Bangalore Prize 1st Prize - 35000/Rs 2nd Prize - 15000/Rs The Box Cricket Tournament (11 aside) Competition Rules - A. HOWZATT Turf Cup will consist of 15 teams playing in a league+knockout format. B. There will be 3 groups with 5 teams in each group. C. Each team will play 4 league matches. D. One team from each group who tops the points table will qualify for semi-finals. 4th team will be decided on the basis of best run rate among the 2nd placed teams. E. All league and knockout matches to be played in 11 side turf. F. If two teams finish with equal points, the team with a higher run rate will qualify in the group. Guidelines - A. Match Duration and Overs ➢ An innings will run for a duration of 30 mins. ➢ There will be no innings break. ➢ 8 overs per side in league stage & 10 overs in play-offs. ➢ 4 bowlers can bowl a maximum of 2 overs in an 8-over match and 5 bowlers can bowl a maximum of 2 overs in a 10-over match. B. Field restrictions, Powerplay & Substitutions ➢ Rolling Substitution - Teams can utilize their entire squad of 8 players during a match. ➢ Maximum of two fielders can field behind the bowling stumps. ➢ Batsmen will be given out when the ball is hit out of the fence including freehit (Outside the venue). ➢ Powerplay- There won't be any power play. ➢ Boundaries(4s,6s) are counted when hit to straight fence. ➢ Batsman will be given out when hit directly to the side fence. ➢ There won't be any innings break. ➢ It will be a bowling match, illegal bowling action will not be allowed. ➢ Over Throws - Runs will be counted on the basis of how much the batsmen run (No boundaries are applicable). ➢ Byes & Leg Byes - No runs will be awarded for byes & leg byes.
